INCIDENT NUMBER: 131/267A-4138
CASE CODEWORD: TO BE ASSIGNED
REPORTING AGENT: CAMPBELL, JACK (TEAM RED DANUBE)
INVESTIGATING AGENTS: BIRD, SAM (TEAM RED DANUBE), BLOCH, ROBERT (TEAM RED DANUBE), CAMPBELL, JACK (TEAM RED DANUBE), SHELDON, ANN (TEAM RED DANUBE), SNOW, ALEX (TEAM RED DANUBE)
TEAM RED DANUBE, acting as duty responders, received Keyword Alert from Monitoring – keyword LOVECRAFT broadcast over London Metropolitan Police (LMP) radio network. Transmission containing LOVECRAFT concerned public order incident outside Embassy of the United States of America, Grosvenor Square, London W1K (EMBASSY) (Alert for possible BLACK CHAMBER involvement or interest). IC1 Male wearing hooded sweatshirt and jogging trousers identified self as LOVECRAFT at gate of EMBASSY and claimed status as United States citizen, but was unable to provide documentary proof of citizen status to gate personnel. Verbal argument ensued, resulting in call from EMBASSY to LMP. PC Nadia Laytham (LAYTHAM) dispatched to investigate.
TEAM RED DANUBE initial investigation followed three avenues:
- 1) Contact made with LAYTHAM by ANN SHELDON in guise of superior LMP officer. LAYTHAM reported that LOVECRAFT had left EMBASSY gates by the time of her arrival. Canvass of local eyewitnesses indicated LOVECRAFT’s route after departure; LOVECRAFT traced to local branch of Tesco Express (TESCO). Staff reported IC1 Male matching description of LOVECRAFT entered premises and engaged in argument with staff re cost of ice cream, then departed premises. No further witness reports were forthcoming; LAYTHAM reported incident closed. All relevant case paperwork supplied by LAYTHAM to ANN SHELDON.
- 2) ROBERT BLOCH, JACK CAMPBELL and SAM BIRD investigated CCTV coverage of Grosvenor Square and surrounding area. Footage available showed LOVECRAFT arriving at TESCO on board private hire coach displaying markings of company ABBOT’S COACHES. Driver exited vehicle and entered TESCO premises. LOVECRAFT exited coach shortly after and proceeded in direction of EMBASSY – LOVECRAFT appeared unsteady on his feet, possibly dazed or drugged. After leaving EMBASSY, LOVECRAFT is shown returning to TESCO, entering and leaving premises. Upon leaving premises, LOVECRAFT intercepted by white van (VAN); two IC1 Males forced LOVECRAFT into VAN and drove away. Both abductors wore unidentified objects around their necks; one also had object consistent with firearm or Taser carried in waistband, concealed under shirt.
ABBOT’S COACHES contacted by ANN SHELDON in guise of LMP officer. After initial reluctance, ABBOT’S COACHES employee reported that coach was on one-week hire, commencing two days before incident at EMBASSY, to group identified as HERMETIC TRUST (listed in LAUNDRY records as low-level mystic group, unaware of LAUNDRY or classified information), named contact AGNES BARKET.
Investigation of VAN showed registration number to be false (fabricated, not stolen). Attempts made to track VAN via CCTV; unsuccessful due to large number of similar vehicles in area.
- 3) ALEX SNOW proceeded to EMBASSY and questioned eyewitnesses. No new information forthcoming. ALEX SNOW then proceeded to TESCO and questioned staff. Staff confirmed LOVECRAFT’s activities on premises; ALEX SNOW successfully procured TESCO CCTV recording of LOVECRAFT’s arrival and abduction. Additionally, ALEX SNOW recovered scrapings of bodywork paint from VAN left on kerb and bollard struck during abduction
Upon return of ALEX SNOW to LAUNDRY HQ, JACK CAMPBELL employed Level One sympathetic magic on paint samples to determine current location of VAN. VAN found to be still mobile, proceeding through streets in approximate spiral pattern expanding from vicinity of EMBASSY/TESCO. Using sympathetic magic location to narrow search parameters, TEAM RED DANUBE successfully reacquired VAN on CCTV. Two occupants visible, designated SUBJECT ONE (driver) and SUBJECT TWO.
TEAM RED DANUBE determined next course of action was to investigate and, if possible, apprehend occupants of VAN. TEAM RED DANUBE requisitioned standard team vehicle (2005 Vauxhall Zafira 1.6 Petrol with concealed blue police lights, fuel expenditure form L27-F to follow). VAN was successfully tracked down; use of Level Two scrying by JACK CAMPBELL determined that both SUBJECT ONE and SUBJECT TWO carried personal wards and that a significant thaumic source was present in rear of vehicle. VAN observed making frequent detours down side streets, as though searching for something. TEAM RED DANUBE followed VAN down one such street, blocking only exit. SUBJECT ONE attempted to force path past TEAM RED DANUBE vehicle; JACK CAMPBELL employed Level One entropy manipulation (standard facial image distortion effect with field inverted to block view outward) to blind SUBJECT ONE, causing VAN to collide with structure. Simultaneously, SUBJECT TWO observed moving from forward compartment to rear of VAN.
ANN SHELDON and ALEX SNOW exited TEAM RED DANUBE vehicle and moved to apprehend SUBJECT ONE and SUBJECT TWO. Rear doors of VAN were then opened, releasing Level Two EXONOME (initial classification ELMO TWO). EXONOME moved to attack ALEX SNOW, resulting in destruction of agent’s standard-issue Class Two personal ward but no further injury.
JACK CAMPBELL and ROBERT BLOCH activated Level One banishment grid scripts, using OFCUT-enabled laptop and OFCUT-enabled smartphone respectively. EXONOME switched attack to JACK CAMPBELL, who had exited TEAM RED DANUBE vehicle to more effectively present banishing grid to EXONOME, resulting in destruction of agent’s standard-issue Class Two personal ward but no further injury. ALEX SNOW proceeded into rear of VAN and attempted to restrain SUBJECT TWO. SUBJECT TWO produced firearm and discharged one round at ALEX SNOW; shot did not connect. Rear of VAN contained summoning grid operated by crude Turing-machine and showing evidence of sanguinary thaumaturgical activity. ANN SHELDON moved to front of VAN and restrained SUBJECT ONE using handcuffs.
ALEX SNOW attempted to restrain SUBJECT TWO. SUBJECT TWO discharged several further rounds apparently at random during struggle; no injuries sustained. ANN SHELDON moved to assist and SUBJECT TWO was ejected from VAN. In spite of restraint, SUBJECT ONE attempted to move from front of VAN into rear compartment and inflict bleeding injury on self within summoning grid; ALEX SNOW attempted to prevent this.
SAM BIRD effected access to local high-pressure water main via nearest Fire Service attachment point; resulting discharge of water, coupled with use of banishing grids, caused EXONOME to dissipate. Simultaneously, SUBJECT TWO collapsed and ceased resistance; upon further examination, SUBJECT TWO found to be deceased. Connection between dissipation of EXONOME and death of SUBJECT TWO likely but not confirmed. ALEX SNOW succeeded in preventing SUBJECT ONE from injuring himself while JACK CAMPBELL disabled summoning grid in VAN.
Attention of local residents attracted by gunshots from SUBJECT TWO. ANN SHELDON activated police lights on TEAM RED DANUBE vehicle to allay suspicion; recommend canvassing of witnesses to determine exposure, and suppression measures as appropriate. ANN SHELDON and ALEX SNOW returning to New Annexe with TEAM RED DANUBE vehicle and SUBJECT ONE. SAM BIRD, ROBERT BLOCH and JACK CAMPBELL proceeding to secure LMP location with VAN and corpse of SUBJECT TWO to prevent confederates of SUBJECTS ONE and TWO tracking VAN to New Annexe. Temporary Class Two personal wards applied to agents whose standard-issue wards were destroyed by EXONOME; request replacement permanent wards as soon as possible.
LOVECRAFT remains unaccounted for at this time; recommend immediate interrogation of SUBJECT ONE under truth geas and probing of residual neural activity of SUBJECT TWO. Intend to ward VAN against scrying or sympathetic magic by confederates of SUBJECTS ONE and TWO; if successful, will return SUBJECT TWO to New Annexe for processing.
